Mulch is the finishing layer — the product that takes a landscaping project from "we put some plants in" to "this looks like someone made intentional decisions." NotDuneVision sources double-ground hardwood mulch from Indiana timber operations and offers it in natural and dyed colors to match your aesthetic preferences, your HOA requirements, or whatever your neighbor just put in their yard.
We double-grind all of our hardwood mulch, which produces a consistent texture that spreads evenly, stays in place reasonably well, and decomposes into your soil over the course of a season or two, adding organic matter and improving structure. It also smells excellent immediately after delivery. We consider this a feature, not a coincidence.
Mulch delivery is one of the few NotDuneVision services where the Stick is genuinely indispensable — depth verification in mulch beds requires exactly the kind of precise tactile measurement that only a good stick can provide.
Apply mulch at 2–3 inches deep for weed suppression and moisture retention. Do not pile it against plant stems or tree trunks — this causes rot and is called "volcano mulching," which sounds dramatic because it is a genuine problem. One cubic yard covers approximately 108 square feet at 3 inches deep. The Stick can verify depth on Tier 02 and Tier 03 deliveries, which is one of his primary responsibilities and something he takes very seriously.
Mulch is the finish coat. We also carry everything that goes underneath it.
