This Is a Joke Website

NotDuneVision.tv is a parody website created as a friendly joke. We do not actually sell sand, dirt, gravel, or any other bulk earth materials. We cannot help you with your landscaping project. We are sorry.

About Our Topsoil

Topsoil is what separates a functional yard from a dirt rectangle. It is the upper layer of earth — rich in organic matter, biologically active, and capable of supporting the plant life that makes a property look like someone cares about it. NotDuneVision sources premium topsoil from Northwest Indiana agricultural suppliers and processes it through our screening operation to remove rocks, clay clods, and debris before delivery.

We screen our topsoil with the same attention to detail a broadcast engineer applies to checking signal integrity — methodically, thoroughly, and with a genuine interest in the quality of the final output. The result is a consistently dark, friable product that your lawn, garden, or raised bed will actually use.

This is different from fill dirt. If you call and ask for dirt to plant things in, we will sell you topsoil. If you call and ask for topsoil to fill a hole in your yard, we will gently redirect you to fill dirt and explain the price difference. We are helpful that way.

Topsoil Types Available

  • Screened Topsoil — Our standard product. Processed through a 5/8" screen for a clean, consistent texture. Dark, rich, and ready for lawns, gardens, and general landscaping. The correct choice for most applications.
  • Premium Blended Topsoil — Screened topsoil blended with compost at a 70/30 ratio. Superior organic matter content, improved drainage, and better moisture retention. The correct choice for raised beds and vegetable gardens.
  • Lawn Mix — A lighter blend of screened topsoil and sand designed for overseeding, lawn leveling, and topdressing existing turf. Spreads easily, settles well, does not smother grass crowns.

Common Applications

  • New lawn establishment (seed or sod prep)
  • Garden bed creation and amendment
  • Raised bed filling (use Premium Blend)
  • Lawn leveling and topdressing
  • Tree and shrub planting backfill
  • Erosion control on established slopes
  • Athletic field renovation

How Much Do You Need?

For a new lawn, plan on 4–6 inches of topsoil over existing grade. One cubic yard covers approximately 81 square feet at 4 inches deep. For raised beds, a 4x8x12" bed requires approximately 0.13 cubic yards — so a single yard of topsoil will fill about 7–8 standard raised beds with room to spare. The Stick is available to verify depth on-site during Tier 02 and Tier 03 deliveries.
